    Relaxation Massage

My initial training was based on the Swedish massage method. It involves lovely, focused flowing strokes interlaced with petrissage, tapotement, and compression. Pressure is adapted to your preference.

Relaxation massage induces the parasympathetic system into action, enabling the body to rest and recuperate. It is a great way to re-acquaint yourself with your body and give yourself a well deserved treat.

    Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue massage is often requested with Sports management in mind. More vigorous massage techniques are used, with intense pressure where needed (encouraging the tissues to release), focusing on problem areas. The aim is to improve range of movement, ease pain and discomfort.

The current training/competition planning needs to be considered for sports people.

    Neuromuscular Therapy

Neuromuscular Therapy aims for a broader understanding of the influences responsible for the presenting symptoms. Several factors may be involved leading to adaptation and compensation patterns forming throughout the body. These include:

    • Breathing patterns
    • Postural issues
    • Past injuries/surgeries
    • Movement habits
    • Stress
    • Depression/anxiety
    • Allergies
    • Hormone imbalances
    • Nutrition

    Techniques utilized include:

    • Trigger point therapy
    • Muscle energy technique
    • Myofascial release
    • Deep tissue massage
    • Relaxation massage when required
    • Joint mobilization within scope of practice
    • Postural analysis

    Visceral Manipulation

    VM1, VM2, VM3 - Barral Institute

Internal organ dysfunction can have ill effects on general wellness and also impact the muscular skeletal system through ligament attachments to tissues connected to nerve pathways. So far, I have trained to work with organs of the Abdomen and the Pelvic region. I am looking forward to future classes for this amazing modality. I have personally reaped many positive changes from the treatments I have received.

    Visceral Manipulation benefits include:

    • Improved function of organs and/or associated fascial connections
    • Improved musculoskeletal restrictions (through associated nerve impingement release)

A maximum of 20 gm pressure is used.
